The programs at Sonshine Christian School (SCS - est. 1979) have been established to provide an educational experience in a warm and loving atmosphere for young children prior to entering Kindergarten. Recognizing the importance of balanced growth, our staff will provide opportunity for the social, mental, physical, and spiritual development of each child. This pre-school program is a ministry and service of John Day Church of the Nazarene to the families in our community. It is our objective to help your child understand the peace and love that God offers while preparing them for their next step educationally.

The Preschool Class is a combination of playschool and preschool experiences. Hands-on curriculum is planned around Zoo Phonics, children's stories, bible stories, discovery centers, structural playtimes, as well as free playtimes.

The Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum coordinates with the State Testing standards. Hands-on curriculum is planned around Zoo Phonics, discovery centers, children's stories, bible stories, holiday activities, and structural play.
